Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer, Perception to join our on-site team in Tampa, FL. This role is focused on the design, implementation, and optimization of algorithms that interpret 3D scenes from LiDAR data. The ideal candidate will develop new perception capabilities, enhance existing systems, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, real-time solutions that meet specific customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize algorithms for real-time 3D object detection, classification, and tracking using LiDAR data.

Collaborate closely with hardware, cloud, and software teams to integrate perception modules into deployable systems.

Containerize and validate perception software for deployment across varied environments and infrastructures.

Research and apply state-of-the-art methods to improve the accuracy, robustness, and performance of perception models.

Contribute to long-term strategy and roadmap planning for AI and perception capabilities within the organization.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Proficiency in C++ and Python for algorithm development and system integration.

Strong understanding of 3D geometry, LiDAR point cloud processing, and linear algebra.

Familiarity with foundational detection and tracking techniques (e.g., DBSCAN, Kalman Filters).

Practical experience with libraries such as Open3D and PCL (Point Cloud Library).

Excellent analytical and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field.

Experience with deep learning techniques for 3D point cloud data.

Proficiency with CUDA or multiprocessing techniques for algorithm acceleration.
